A rider does not actually request the throttle valve aperture but rather the rider requests a given amount of torque. The ECU refers to specific "handle maps" to determine by how much and how quickly the butterflies are actually opened. The parameters influencing the handle maps are handle aperture, engine speed, and handle aperture change rate.....(I could see that last parameter possible influecing dyno runs, for a sweep test, the operator just whacks it wide open and for step testing its held constant)
